從事並專精於油畫創作，筆下題材多以人(human)做為畫面中的主要載體，常將自體肉身作為脈絡的基底，將自己設立為實驗對象，進而探求自我身分、女性意象、社會觀感以及認同與否等諸類面向。過去從事純寫實的超現實風格繪畫，近年來以寫實為主、負片效果為輔的表現手法來探索人體的可能性，並加入隱晦的惡趣味題材來反映概括範圍內被討論的議題，企圖以讓畫面說話的方式記錄著時間軸上的當下。將幻想變成現實，力求突破自我格局，並轉變為聚焦於自我意識的投射。

​Hsiao Yi-Mei specializing in oil painting,the theme is the study of the body. I position myself as an experimental subject and explore my own self, female image, social perception and identity. Through the exploration of the possibilities of the      human body, from fantasy to reality, I strive to break through self-integration and transform myself into a self-conscious projection through the self-physical metaphor of personal life history imprint.
